Justice Connection Releases Video Featuring Erez Reuveni’s Former Colleagues

WASHINGTON – Justice Connection today released a video featuring former colleagues of Erez Reuveni speaking out on his behalf following attacks on his character by senior Justice Department leadership.

After Reuveni’s whistleblower disclosure was made public alleging Bove’s involvement in a campaign to defy federal court orders and lie to the court, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche issued a statement saying Reuveni’s claims are “salacious” and “utterly false,” and called Reuveni a “disgruntled former employee.”

The video released today provides the perspective of two former Justice Department attorneys who knew Reuveni well and can speak to his candor and commitment to his oath to defend the Constitution of the United States.

Joseph Darrow, a former trial attorney with the Civil Division, worked with Reuveni for approximately eight years, and Reuveni was his direct supervisor.

“Erez was a fantastic boss,” Darrow says in the video. “He is a person of incredible integrity, one of the best litigators that we had in our office. What Erez is doing is really important. He’s helping to restore integrity to the Department of Justice.”

Jennifer Ricketts, a former director in the Civil Division’s Federal Programs Branch, worked with Reuveni across multiple administrations, including while he served as a senior manager of a separate branch in the division.

“Erez is known as a zealous advocate for the United States, and he was often tapped for the most sensitive cases,” Ricketts says in the video. “He’s standing up for his own responsibilities but also protecting all career attorneys in the department who might be put in this situation.”

Justice Connection continues to implore the administration to end its smear campaign and respect DOJ employees’ right to blow the whistle.
